We’re proud that from April 2025, we’ll be working towards achieving accreditation through the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA).

This will help us provide the safest possible services for our customers and colleagues.

A closer look at the process

Achieving accreditation will be a rigorous process, taking up to 18 months. We’ll draft an action plan and we’ll be required to show evidence of our progress towards the actions.

We’ll then be subject to an annual review to ensure we continue to adhere to the highest standards.

Why are we taking this step?

Domestic abuse affects one in five adults. Tragically, the home—where people should feel safest—is often the most dangerous place for victims.

As a social landlord, we can make a difference. By identifying and responding to domestic abuse early, we can protect victims and their children from harm, prevent homelessness, and break the cycle of abuse.

What Does this Mean for Us?

DAHA is a leading accreditation body that sets high standards for how housing providers address domestic abuse. Only a few Welsh providers have completed the process, so this will place us at the forefront of this critical work, raising the bar across Wales.

“I’m confident that this will make a meaningful difference”

Safeguarding Officer, Sam Strong, will be leading the project.

He said: “I’m very excited that the organisation has committed to achieving DAHA accreditation, which has a proven track record of helping housing providers to deliver the very highest level of support to tackle domestic abuse. I am confident that this will make an important and meaningful difference to the lives of our customers. It will be a real team effort, ensuring that every area of the business is proactive in spotting signs of abuse and responding accordingly to keep our customers safe and happy in all that we do.”
