We’re excited to let you know about our new Tiny Forests Project. This project will bring more green spaces to our communities, and we’d love for you to get involved!

What’s a Tiny Forest?
A Tiny Forest is a small forest, about the size of a tennis court (200 square metres), packed with around 600 trees. This idea started in Japan and is a great way to create a lively, green space. We’ll be planting two Tiny Forests – one at Heol Y Frenhines in Cefn Glas and one near Yr Ynys on the Marlas Estate.

What to Expect
Each Tiny Forest will have a path going through it and an outdoor classroom. They will be great places for local activities, school trips, or just spending time in nature. You can also help take care of these forests! We’ll be offering chances for people to get training to become Tree Keepers, so you can help look after the trees.

Rachel Lovell, our Communities and Commercial Business Partner, says:
“Tiny Forests aren’t just about planting trees—they’re about creating places where people can come together and enjoy nature. We’re really excited to see our communities get involved!”

How You Can Get Involved
We’re already talking to local schools and community groups, and we’ll keep building those connections. You can help by planting trees, becoming a Tree Keeper, or just enjoying the forest once it’s ready.
