Last week, we held our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and successfully signed our financial statements. Our AGM is an opportunity for us to review our performance over the past year, present financial statements, and set out our future commitments with our shareholders and customers.
One of the highlights of this year’s AGM was the transition of leadership. We bid farewell to Anthony Whittaker as Chair of the Board and warmly welcomed Amanda Davis to take on the role.
We could not begin the meeting without a heartfelt acknowledgement of the recent passing of two former shareholders and customers, Billy Kelly and Robert Sayce. They have dedicated lots of time and support to us over the years, being dedicated since the stock transfer.
It was great to be able to reflect and share a summary of our achievements, challenges, and significant activities from the previous year, which included:
- Launching Llanw, our new repairs and maintenance company.
- Implementing Service Connect, our IT system for managing our repairs.
- Improving our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) practices to better understand how we can support the diverse needs of our customers.
- Successfully delivered 43 new homes.
- Invested £21 million over the past year to ensure that our homes are safe, warm and dry.
- Launch of our Growth for Good project – in partnership with our customers, transforming the green and grey spaces in our communities.
- And the great transformation of our Jubilee Crescent estate – preventing flytipping and anti-social behaviour to a communal area residents can use.
During the AGM, Amanda, our Chair of the Board emphasised the importance of investing in efficient and accessible technology. She highlighted that improving how we collect customer feedback and addressing their priorities is key. Equally important, she noted, is listening to and supporting our colleagues as we continue to enhance our services.
A number of questions were raised prior to the meeting. The questions and answers can be can be seen below.
Finally, after a unanimous vote, Bevan Buckland LLP was reappointed as our external auditors for next year.
