Following the violent attack in Southport which took the lives of three young children, disinformation and lies were spread to incite racial hatred and violence against Muslims and all who appeared to not come from a white or European heritage.
In response to these violent riots and attacks, we at Valleys to Coast and Llanw have signed the statement of solidarity to make it abundantly clear that we have zero tolerance for Islamophobia, and all other hatred and discrimination targeting any race or religion.
The safety of our customers and colleagues as they move through life is an essential right and we will do everything we can to ensure it.
If you have noticed or been victim to a hate crime, you can report it to South Wales Police here: report a hate crime. You can also call 999 in an emergency, or 101 to report non-urgent crime.
If you have been affected by a hate crime and would like more information and support on what to do next, please contact the trained staff and volunteers Victim Support here: victim support live chat.
You can also call the Victim Supportline anytime on 0808 1689 111, even if you aren’t confident or comfortable speaking in English. They’ll call you back with an interpreter as soon as they can.
