Early this year, we held a community event to share our plans about the 35 new homes we are building on the former Glan Yr Afon Care Home site with you.
Your responses were very positive with many saying the area needed some investment as it seemed unloved since the closure of the Care Home. Some of the feedback we received included:
“I like it, it’s a great idea positive for the area.”
“The development doesn’t look too bad, it will be inconvenient when the work starts with grit and dust as we’ve already had a lot of building work in the area but the result will be great.”
Located on Heol yr Ysgol, opposite Coleg Cymunedol Y Dderwen (CCYD) and next to Halo Leisure, we are working in partnership with Pendragon Design and Build to develop:
- 24 x one-bedroom flats
- 5 x two-bedroom homes
- 4 x three-bedroom homes
- 2 x four-bedroom homes
The team at Pendragon have already demolished the old Care Home and the development is now underway.
The new homes will be ready for you in March 2026.
