The construction of 20 new homes at the site of the old Blaenllynfi School is about to begin! To celebrate this significant milestone, we’re hosting a “Spade in the Ground” event. An afternoon filled with excitement, nostalgia, and a glimpse into the bright future of our neighbourhood.
This event will not only share the plans for the new homes but also provide an opportunity for you to contribute your memories and stories related to the site. We’re calling upon all customers and residents, old and new, to come together and make this event truly memorable. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, 12th July from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
Robert Green, our Head of Development & Regeneration, has said; “We are thrilled to start building 20 new homes on the site of the old Blaenllynfi School in partnership with Welsh Government, BCBC and Pendragon. There has been a huge amount of effort by the team to get to this point so The ‘Spade in the Ground’ event is a special opportunity to mark the beginning of the transformation of this brownfield site. We invite everyone to join us, share their memories, and contribute to the rich tapestry of history that will shape the future of this community, where we hope to build safe, and happy homes for those who need them”
We also invite you to bring any old pictures you may have of the site prior to the school’s demolition. Your cherished snapshots and fond recollections will play an important role in capturing the history and spirit of the place.
